The Last Project Steering Committee Meeting was held

Operates since 2009, the Strengthening the System of Marine and Coastal Protected Areas of Turkey Project's 4th Steering Committee meeting was held in Ankara on 2 October 2013.
Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanization General Directorate for Protection of Natural Assets Deputy Director General Mr. Osman Öztürk, United Nations Development Programme Environment and Sustainable Development Programme Manager Mrs. Katalin Zaim and representatives of steering committee member institutions were attended the meeting. Following the opening speeches the General Directorate for Protection of Natural Assets Branch Manager Project Coordinator Mr. Güner Ergün delivered the project presentation on to date progress and 2014 workplan. In the discussion section, the project as a positive contribution to protected areas system in Turkey were evaluated and discussed. It was unanimously decided that the MPA network system to be further strengthened along the Turkish MPAs with specific emphasis on the Black Sea coasts.
A total of 31 people from 19 institutions attended the meeting. Institutions that participated in the meeting were:
